Health & Safety

We maintain our knowledge of health and safety, relevant legislation and its impact on our operations by applying our comprehensive Health & Safety Management System.

The system is based on the requirements of OHSAS 18001:2007 for Health & Safety Management Systems and the Health & Safety Executive's ‘Successful Health & Safety Management'.

The focal point for health and safety management in the company is our Health & Safety Steering Group (HSSG). The HSSG is made up of senior managers from all departments who agree annual company health and safety objectives and implementation plans. The HSSG also monitors performance against the objectives and reports progress to the Board.

Our Health & Safety Policy and Manual contains full details of specific policies, organisation and arrangements for health and safety. It is administered as an electronic document and is available to all staff via our company Intranet ‘Link Up'. It is a living, up to date document accessible to all employees including home workers.

Our policy meets the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and outlines our intentions for ensuring the health, safety and welfare of our employees and others affected by our work.

In addition to the above all our contractor partners are accredited to the SAFEContractor scheme.
